Cary Exterior Remodel

These homeowners wanted to create a larger, more inviting space for entertaining while updating the materials and finishes throughout their outdoor area. As returning Wake Remodeling clients, they had previously completed their kitchen and laundry room. This project continued that work by focusing on the home’s exterior. This remodel included extending the existing screened porch with a new deck, along with creating a new patio, firepit, and outdoor kitchen.

The back exterior was expanded with composite decking that extends from the screened porch, with matching updated railings and columns, and a new ceiling fan. At the front of the home, the existing porch was refreshed with updated railings and columns, while new posts were wrapped with Hardie trim and painted white. Beyond the deck, an outdoor patio was installed using pavers in a modular ashlar pattern, complemented by a firepit and outdoor kitchen finished with sawn thin veneer stone. The kitchen includes stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, while new fencing and a stone patch complete the connection to the backyard.

The finished exterior provides several connected spaces for gathering, dining, and relaxing. This gives the homeowners more flexibility when enjoying their home outdoors. The deck extends the usable space directly from the screened porch, while the patio creates a separate destination centered around the firepit and outdoor kitchen. With updated finishes, defined areas, and improved flow throughout the backyard, the project gives the homeowners a more functional setting for entertaining and everyday outdoor living.
